Where is your income level, single moms?

Good morning ladies.
I was just reading this article at http://www.wealthysinglemommy.com/thank-you/
And while I might not subscribe to all that they say since it has a secular, non Christian bent to it, I do like the concepts in number one: FIGURE OUT HOW YOU CAN EARN MORE:

“Not how much more you can get from your ex. Or how much you can save with coupons and garagesaling. No. You have little control over those parts of your life. But you can control how much you earn. How you can MAKE more money. What is the best way for you to get a raise/promotion/new degree? Can you start your own business within the next few months? What about a side gig consulting or freelancing? What are three steps you can take now to make that happen? This week take one step on the first item.” That was their number one for 15 Secrets to Thriving as a Single Moms.

As a Single Stay-at-Home Mom, I would have loved to had more money…from my ex. But I refused to ask for more from him or have the Child Support Agency to ask for more from him. I figured, I told him what I wanted and I was getting it for the most part. So left it alone…for 17 years. I left the amount the same even though the cost of living was going up.

My thought was that I would leave well enough alone. It wasn’t worth the strife and money to go to court for more. I did pray to God for my finances. I prayed to learn how to live within my means. It took some years for me to become totally dependent on God to move in my life, to supply all of my needs and…to not worry.

That was a big problem for me as a single mom. Worry. How do you stop worrying? I had to trust God. I had to be sold out to God for my finances, to know that he did not put me on earth to fail. As I repented of my sin of worrying, I had more peace and joy.

Number two thing was to forgive. I had to forgive my ex spouse for leaving me. I had to forgive the situation that had me living on half the income I was used to. I had to forgive over and over to be free to live life as best as I could…without bitterness.

There are probably more key things that you could think of and I would love to hear your thoughts.

As a Christian, God is our best SOURCE for any and all RESOURCES. Look to Christ, from whence your help comes from…

Psalm 121:1,2 (KJV)

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”

Deuteronomy 8:18(KJV)

“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Be blessed, ladies. And Keep your eyes on God who made the Heaven and the Earth. And if you don’t know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, drop me a note. I would love to pray for you and your new walk with Christ.

In Christ Name, Nek’ka
