God took care of Jacob though Laban changed things constantly.

Who is changing things in your life?

I usually will stop dealing with people if they change their mind or with the agreement we had, they change it too many times. The scripture says to not meddle with them given to change. (Proverbs 24:21)

There is also another scripture that says a double minded man shall receive nothing. (JAMES 1:7-8)

Do you have people around you who seem to flow with the current wind of doctrine about life, finances, relationship, future plans and so on? And it could just be that they are listening to wrong thoughts of others or their own mind. Double mindedness is not good.

It could be seen as a crazy maker. Making the people around them crazy. You could be married to this person, it could be a friend or even a boss. I’ve had bosses that change their mind so much that an employee never knew what to think or what to expect.

Genesis 31 was an encouragement to me today in light of so many changes in my personal and business life. Changes being made for me or about my plans.

What is the solution? If you are not a Christian, I want to tell you that there is hope in Jesus.

If you are a Christian, I want to remind you that the Holy Spirit can guide you into all truth. (John 16:13) There might be some truth in what an unstable person is saying and doing. Though they are confused or double minded, there could be some truth on one side of what they are presenting.

So with the story of Jacob from Genesis 31, Laban spoke truth that Jacob’s wives were Laban’s daughters. Laban did pay Jacob something though he changed it multiple times.

And the biggest truth from this story and most important is that God never left Jacob. God intervene and let Jacob know when enough was enough and that it was time to go… to leave Laban.

Everyone’s threshhold is different for how much messiness they can handle and endure. And God can give strength and wisdom in the midst of the trials and tribulations without removing you. It’s called GRACE for the situation.

This could be seen as a good reason to become a Christian if you are not one yet! You might need some supernatural help and grace for your situation. God wants to be your defender! Let Him in by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Confess that you believe Jesus is Lord, that he was sent to earth for our redemption, that he died for our sins and that God in Heaven rose Him from the dead to soon after rise into Heaven to sit on the right hand of the Father. (Romans 10:9-10)

If you are already a Christian, cry out to God for a solution, for relief and even deliverance in his timing. God hears our prayers. He sees our pain and anguish. God will protect us if we put our trust in Him.

In fact, we know of people who seem to be protected and they are not Christians. Why? Because the scriptures in Matthew 5:45 says that he rains on the just and the unjust. He shines his sun on the just and the unjust. But we will all have a day of reckoning for the things we have done to other and things done in this life. Romans 14:12. Hebrews 9:27 says, it is appointed unto man once to die then the judgement. And another place, it says we will give an account of every idle word on judgement day. (Matthew 12:36)

Why not live this life with supernatural help from God Almighty instead of battling these demons alone? Why not surrender to Jesus to be Lord of your life and this specific area that you are being harrassed in? God told us to cast all of our cares on Him for He cares for us. (1 Peter 5:7 )

The story of Jacob and Laban is in Genesis 31:5, 7, 12, 29, 42 (KJV):

Verse 5 reads, And said unto them, I see your father’s countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.

7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.

12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.

29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
